At the Henkel site in Bridgewater, New Jersey, adhesive experts develop some of the most high-tech, innovative, and modern adhesive solutions in the world. Team members pay special attention to enabling production automation, improving sustainability processes, and enhancing consumer comfort, as well as convenience.

History

The Bridgewater facility became part of the Adhesive Technologies division of Henkel Corporation through the April 2008 acquisition of the adhesives business of National Starch and Chemical Company. Ongoing investments at the site serve to enhance collaboration and innovation with customers.

Innovative solutions developed by the Adhesive Technologies team in Bridgewater are used in over 800 industry segments.

Innovation 

A Customer Experience Center is located on site, within Technology Center Bridgewater, which showcases innovative solutions and provides an environment for dedicated collaboration with customers. The Center features a dynamic exhibit space and a digital experience room where visitors can explore Henkel’s entire technology portfolio of adhesives, sealants, functional coatings, and specialty materials.

The Customer Experience Center showcases Henkel’s entire portfolio of innovative solutions from Henkel Adhesive Technologies.

In addition to research and development laboratories, equipment replicating customers’ manufacturing processes enables Henkel to support customers from concept to commercialization, accelerating time to market.

On-site equipment replicates customers’ manufacturing processes and accelerates time to market: A pilot coater (left) supports the development and testing of pressure sensitive adhesive coatings for applications in the tapes, labels, graphics, and medical markets. A high-speed hotmelt laminator (right) supports the nonwovens/hygiene market.

With the help of digital technologies, numerous exhibits and equipment on site that replicates their own operations, customers from across the region can experience firsthand our innovative and technological power. We welcome customers and business partners, alike, to our facility to work together with us.

Community Service

Henkel’s Bridgewater team is well-versed in volunteerism and community service. Team members participate in ongoing volunteer opportunities, including sustainability learning sessions at a local middle school, frequent donation drives to benefit the local food bank, holiday gift giving and other activities.

Bridgewater employees participated in the 2025 Corporate Cup Challenge 5K Run/3K Walk, raising over $3,500 for The Somerset Children’s Center and Blood Cancer United.
