Henkel expands adhesives production
Henkel Russia opened a new dry building mixes plant in the Novosibirsk region on June 16. With the new production site, Henkel is moving closer to the growing number of customers in the Siberian and Far East regions of Russia. Regional Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky, Henkel Russia President Sergey Bykovskih and General Director of Henkel Bautechnik Alexander Zaytsev attended the ceremony.
The new site is Henkel’s ninth and Henkel Bautechnik’s fifth production facility in Russia and will create more than 120 new jobs. The plant will produce dry mortar mixes products under the Ceresit and Thomsit brands. Henkel Bautechnik is part of Henkel Adhesive Technologies, the leading solution provider for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings worldwide.
The opening of the new production facility is in line with Henkel’s strategy to expand in emerging markets, including Russia. The company currently gets 44 percent of its total sales in emerging markets.
Henkel is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary of successful operations in the Russian market this year and expansion of production in the country reflects the company’s commitment to invest in Russia.
As part of Henkel’s global sustainability strategy, the new plant is built using high-end technologies that will allow the company to significantly reduce consumption of water and energy resources.
Henkel Bautechnik celebrated 10 years in the Russian market in 2012. With its Ceresit brand, Henkel Bautechnik is among the top three western companies with local production facilities in the market for construction mixes in Russia. In 2014, Ceresit and Thomsit technologies were used for the construction of more than 300 sites in Russia. More than 7 million square meters of facades were insulated using Ceresit technologies.
