An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Project Engineer to join the AG Technical Customer Service (TCS) team in Hemel Hempstead. TCS provide high level technical support to the AG sales force and direct and indirect customers. The department provides specialist support with regards to application proposals or recommendations, quotations, demonstrations and installations of systems based on the Loctite range of adhesives, sealants, dispense and curing equipment. This is a broad role that also includes additional laboratory support and telephone or email helpline support.

The position is office / laboratory based Technical Sales Support for Henkel’s range of adhesives, sealants, standard and special purpose dispense and curing equipment to include the following:

What we offer

  • Field-based servicing and troubleshooting of dispensing/curing equipment
  • Installation and commissioning support of equipment in UK and Ireland (occasional overseas travel)
  • Laboratory investigations of potential applications
  • Handling telephone enquiries from potential customers
  • Laboratory based adhesive and sealant testing
  • Product demonstrations and product recommendations to end users
  • Preparation of equipment sales proposals and processing of orders for Special Purpose Equipment
  • Equipment demonstrations and customer operator training both in-house and at customer sites
  • Preparation of laboratory reports and equipment operating manuals and training documents

Who we are looking for

  • Engineering/Science Degree or HNC equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an Engineering / laboratory environment (ideally manufacturing-based)
  • Experience with maintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Experience of technical project management
  • Laboratory testing skills
  • PC literate and some experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent) & MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills & Well-developed customer facing skills
  • Flexible, initiative, with the ability to multitask
  • Experience writing, reviewing and understanding technical reports
  • Goal orientated, driven & Able to take direction and consult with colleagues where appropriate
  • Hands-on practical individual with high degree of enthusiasm and problem solving skills
  • High degree of flexibility as travel is required and often at short notice
  • Full driving license required
