Henkel has improved the formulations of its most popular threadlockers – Loctite 243 and Loctite 270 – to meet the evolving industrial requirements and to enable use on an even broader range of substrates. Henkel’s Laundry & Home Care business sector has been recognized with the European Supply Chain Excellence Award 2009, presented by the European business magazine Supply Chain Standard and PRTM, a leading global management consultants firm. An extensive analysis of value chains was the basis of this competition, in which more than 60 different, mostly globally operating companies from all over Europe were shortlisted for the final round.

Düsseldorf – Carsten Tilger, 42, will assume the position of Head of Corporate Communications at Henkel effective March 1, 2010. As Corporate Senior Vice President he will report directly to Kasper Rorsted, Chairman of the Henkel Management Board. Carsten Tilger will succeed Dr. Marcus Kuhnert, who is currently heading Corporate Communications on an interim basis in addition to his function as Chief Strategy Officer.

And hotmelts offer a particularly decisive advantage in such applications: because they cool within seconds, yet produce an almost instant adhesive bond of sufficient strength to enable high production speeds. Hence Henkel will be providing an overview of the performance capabilities of its Technomelt hotmelts at the 2009 Frankfurt Book Fair.

Solar power is becoming an ever more important ingredient in the energy mix of the future. As a system supplier offering innovative adhesives, sealants and cleaners for the entire value chain of the photovoltaic industry, Henkel has a significant role to play in this domain. And at the end of September, the company will be presenting its solutions for this sector at the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC) in Hamburg, Germany.

Today’s Annual General Meeting of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA in Düsseldorf provided around 2,500 shareholders with an overview of the company’s development and performance in fiscal 2008.

Albrecht Woeste, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and of the Shareholders' Committee of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA announced at today's Annual General Meeting of the company that he would be retiring from these offices in September 2009 and would be proposing to the members of both corporate bodies that they elect Dr. Simone Bagel-Trah as his successor. This handing-over of the corporate baton from the fourth to the fifth generation of the Henkel family was first announced last year.
